About the destination: Chiapa de Corzo is a small Mexican city located in the center of the state of Chiapas, in the southeast of Mexico. It is located 15 km from the center of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. It is the first city established in the state and the first capital, and has a Parisian style in the squares of its historic center. It is the head of the municipality of Chiapa de Corzo, which is located in the Central Depression of Chiapas. It limits to the north, with Soyaló and Osumacinta, to the west, with Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Suchiapa and Villaflores, to the east, with Zinacantán, Ixtapa and Acala, and to the south with Villa Corzo.

About the destination: Palenque is in Chiapas and is a city famous for the ruins of a Mayan city dating from about 600 to 800 CE and became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. Its numerous inscribed stone slabs, intricate basrelief sculptures, inlaid masks and other remarkable adornments give Palenque an air of enchantment and sanctity. The 75-foot-high Temple of the Inscriptions contains one of the only crypts found inside a pyramid in Mexico. On excavation, the Tomb of Pakal, a Mayan ruler of the 7th century, revealed an array of jewels, masks, jade ornaments, wall carvings and other exquisite artefacts.

About the destination: Bacalar is the largest city of Bacalar municipality in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The main attraction of the city is the Laguna, on whose banks is a spa where you can swim, also offers palapas to eat, boating on the lagoon and other services. The Museum of the Caste War located in the old fort of San Felipe shows weapons and objects of the founders of Bacalar and the struggle between them and the Mayan groups and pirates attack suffered by the city. Another of the main attractions of the city is the Blue Cenote, famous for the transparency of its waters, which monitor perfectly from the surface to a depth of over 30 meters.

The site of Chichén Itzá is 3 hours away, but it's definitely worth the trip!
